Wangaratta High School is a secondary education institution in Wangaratta, Victoria. It was the 2002 winner of the Kool Skools award. It has three campuses, and is a public school. It currently has approx. 1300 students attending the school. They are building new campuses to accommodate for the increase in numbers. The school recently built a new state of the art high tech senior school and PAC (Performing Arts Centre), and a new Tech campus, they are also in the process of building a new administrative office and a new science wing. After these have been complete they will move on to a new library, technology and arts centre, middle school and junior school areas. They will also build a new sports center. This will all help in the education of the children because the school believes that a student learns more in an area they feel comfortable in. Over the school year students are given the opportunities to engage in many activities. They also are given a choice to go on a camp to Mittagundi, where students spend nine days hiking, camping, rock-climbing, kayaking and living in the old days. They are also allowed to go on camps with the school to other towns/citys in Australia and overseas, involving subjects like; outdoor ed, music, and LOTE (Language Other Than English).
